About Your Instructor
Hello, everyone! My name is Mr. Tyler Snyder and I am thrilled to be teaching your history class. I recently received my degree in history from Cal State Fullerton, but I have always been interested in history and the social sciences. Studying the past is a great (and fun) way to understand how and why things are the way they are today. I love to incorporate new technology into the learning experience because it makes the material more relevant to today’s fast-paced environment.
Courses
US HistoryThis eleventh grade course builds upon much of the information that students learned in their study of the modern world the previous year. Students will focus on the causes of the American Revolution and the later development and growth of American society. In addition to the study of key national events such as the Civil War, the class will also identify the political and social challenges that America has faced throughout its history. Here is a sample unit plan entitled "America's Post-War Boom."

World HistoryThis tenth grade world history class focuses on the events and factors that shaped the modern world. Students start by studying the world's diverse geography and different cultures in order to gain a global perspective. Once that foundation is established, students will explore key historical events from the 18th Century to the present. The worldwide focus will help students better understand America’s role in key global events such as the Industrial Revolution, the rise of imperialism, and the World Wars.
